I spent over a decade as a Navy SEAL. I was deployed five times to not very pleasant countries, I was in Afghanistan in 2001 when my first child was born, and finished up my last tour as the head instructor for the U.S. Navy SEAL sniper program, one of the best sniper courses in the world.
